Rainee Lynette Miller, 61, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, surrounded by her family. Rainee was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and lifelong learner. Her life was defined by her devotion to family, her creativity, and her natural gift of caring for and teaching others.
Born in San Antonio, TX and raised in Seguin, TX, Rainee maintained deep ties to the community she called home. She was endlessly curious, always exploring new interests and adding to her knowledge and skillset throughout her life. She attended Texas Lutheran University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree before dedicating her career to education. She was a teacher not only by profession, but by nature. She spent her career teaching sixth-grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Weinert, Mary B., and Saegert in Seguin.
Rainee’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the students she guided, the traditions she created, and the many lives she touched through her love, kindness, patience, and generosity. It lives in holiday meals shared around a table, in the laughter of family reminiscing about her quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor, in a decorated front porch welcoming a new season, in something carefully grown or made by hand, and in the lessons carried forward by the many people fortunate enough to learn from her.
Most of all, her legacy is carried on through the way she lived, giving freely of herself in every way she could—through love, care, homemade food and baked goodies, handmade crafts, and simple acts of thoughtfulness. Rainee left her family with a lasting example of resilience and the importance of showing up for others, even when it was not easy.
Rainee is survived by her children, Crystal Zuniga (Basil), Christina McKnight (Curtis), Edward De La Garza Jr. (Neomi), Eric Miller (Charlotte) and Evan Miller (Alexa); 19 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother, Daniel Miller (Lisa), as well as many other family and friends who will continue to carry her memory and legacy forward.
A funeral service honoring Rainee’s life will be held Monday, August 31, at 10:00 a.m. at Pathway Church in Seguin, Texas.
