(McQueeney) —The Guadalupe County Children’s Advocacy Center will be rolling the dice on a new efforts to support services for children who have experienced abuse.
The nonprofit is inviting the public to its Casino Bash this Saturday at the McQueeney Lions Club. The event will feature casino-style games, silent and live auctions, prizes and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
Executive Director Christy Williams says the organization is combining two of its fundraisers “Casino Night” and “Let’s Make their Future Bright Bash” for one full night of raising money.
“We’re excited to host this event in McQueeney, hoping that we can get people from both ends of the county there and really bring together an event that is going to be colorful and fun,” said Williams. “We’re combining this casino night that we’ve done with the bash that we’ve done and using that color theme to help people remember that their contributions and support help to make children’s futures bright.”
Williams says the fundraiser comes at a critical time for the organization as it works to offset funding challenges.
Williams says the center has also launched an annual giving campaign this month to encourage one-time and recurring donations.
“We’re really just trying to get the word out about the need for support and encourage people to do either an annual gift or consider doing monthly contributions to help with sustaining all of our operations and supporting the work that we do here with kids and families,” said Williams.
The Casino Bash will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the McQueeney Lions Club. Remember to wear your brightest attire.
Tickets for the Casino Bash are $50 each and include event admission, casino gaming coins to get started, entry into a door prize drawing and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
Tickets are available in advance at Gift and Gourmet, Stylin’ Hair Salon and Spa, KDJ Insurance and Vallance Security System.
A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door.
