(Seguin) — Here’s some important information if you are looking to make a payment to the City of Seguin this week.
City officials say those city services for utility payments and municipal court cases will be temporarily disrupted this week as Seguin moves forward with a cloud-based software upgrade and staff training. The City of Seguin’s Utility Billing Office will be closed on Thursday, July 9, while the Seguin Municipal Court will be closed for two days, Thursday, July 9 and Friday, July 10.
City officials say the update is designed to improve internal systems and long-term customer service, but it will temporarily limit in-person and electronic payment options. Residents should also be aware that the city’s online payment portal will be offline starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, through 6 p.m. Friday, July 10.
During that window, customers will not be able to make online or phone payments for utility bills or traffic citations. For those needing to handle municipal court matters during the closure, payments can still be made using the drop box located near the front entrance of the Municipal Court building at 660 S. Highway 46.
A 10-day grace period will be granted for traffic ticket payments affected by the shutdown. Utility customers will also be able to use the drop box in the overflow parking lot across from City Hall or mail payments to City of Seguin Utility Billing Office 205 N. River Street Seguin, Texas 78155 The Utility Billing Office will resume normal operations on Friday, July 10, while the Municipal Court will reopen Monday, July 13.
Residents with questions about payment options or the temporary closure can contact the Municipal Court at 830-401-2325 or the Utility Billing Office at 830-401-2460.
