Pastor Abel Peña Arispe

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today
Pastor Abel Peña Arispe

Pastor Abel Peña Arispe, age 91, entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord on June 5, 2026. He was born on June 10, 1934, to Marta Peña in Runge, Texas.

Pastor Abel was a devoted servant of God whose life was marked by unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to ministry. For 50 years, he faithfully served as Pastor of Misión Cristiana Church, touching countless lives through his preaching, leadership, compassion, and steadfast commitment to sharing the Gospel.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Urias Arispe; mother, Marta Peña, and his brothers, Elizandro Herrera, Alejandro Urrea, and Gilberto Urrea.

He is survived by his sons, Abel Jr. and wife Leticia, Adam and Armando and wife Cecilia. He was a cherished grandfather to Abel and wife Tabitha, Abigail, Adrian and wife Carmina, Amy and husband Hector, Alyssa Demi and husband Danny, Celena D’Nae, Aaron Michael, and Adam Jr. He was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Pastor Abel lived as a testament to his faith, guided by the words of his favorite scripture:

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” — Hebrews 12:14

His life reflected these words through his kindness, humility, and faithful service to God and others. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

As we celebrate his life, we find comfort in the words of Scripture:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Pastor Abel’s race is finished, his faith remains victorious, and he now rests in the eternal presence of the Lord he faithfully served throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Palmer Mortuary from 5pm to 8pm. A sermon will begin at 6:30pm.

Viewing will continue on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Palmer Mortuary at 8am and a Funeral Service will start in the chapel at 10am. Interment will follow after services conclude at San Geronimo Cemetery.
