TLU Softball sees season come to end

(Seguin) — The historic season for the Texas Lutheran University softball team came to an end Friday night, as the Bulldogs dropped a pair of games to the University of Redlands in the NCAA Division III Seguin Super Regional. TLU fell 3-1 in the opener and 5-4 in the deciding game, finishing the year with a 42-6 record.

The Bulldogs led early in both contests but could not hold off the Bulldogs of Redlands, who advance to the NCAA Division III Women’s College World Series. TLU stranded runners in scoring position in four innings of each game and left the tying run at third base in the seventh inning of the final contest.

Despite the disappointing finish, the 2026 season was one of the best in program history. Texas Lutheran captured its 12th consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular-season championship, won its 10th SCAC Tournament title, earned another NCAA Regional championship, and set an NCAA Division III record with 256 stolen bases.

The season also marked the end of outstanding careers for seven seniors, including All-American Caelee Clark, who became the first player in college softball history to record 300 career stolen bases.
