SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The No. 16 Texas Lutheran men’s track and field team continued its push toward the 2026 NCAA Division-III National Championships as the Bulldogs sent a small contingent to San Antonio to compete in the Trinity Last Chance Meet in San Antonio on Sunday.Sunday was highlighted by a win from the TLU 4x100m relay team and a record-breaking performance from the 4x400m relay team. The relay team comprised of Rickey Franks (Rockport/Rockport-Fulton), Eden Perez (Hebbronville/
Brown, a 2025 NCAA Championship qualifier, increased his chances of returning to the national stage on Sunday, running the 400m dash in 47.22 seconds to finish third overall and first amongst Division-III sprinters. The time currently ranks 19th in Division-III with Brown needing to be in the top 22 to qualify for nationals.
Amir McClain (Converse/Veterans Memorial), the fifth-ranked triple jumper in Division-III, finished second in the event with a mark of 14.74m (48-4.25).
Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph), who enters the week ranked ninth in Division-III in the high jump, finished second in the event on Sunday with a mark of 2.01m (6-7.25). Cabra also finished fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.87 seconds.
Jonas Martinez (Edinburg/Homeschool) finished third in the 3000m run with a time of 8:56.25.

A small group of Bulldogs will travel to Rock Island, Illinois, later this week to compete in the Augustana Midwest Twilight Last Chance meet May 13-14 as the Bulldogs continue their push towards national qualification.
