(Seguin) — Although May’s issue of Seguin Today Magazine will soon be hitting newsstands, KWED and the Seguin Daily News want to remind readers that the April issue – also known as the 2026 Nonprofit Resource Guide– remains one of the most valuable editions to keep on hand all year long.
The April edition of Seguin Today Magazine shines a spotlight on the nonprofits serving Seguin and Guadalupe County, offering more than just stories and advertisements. It serves as a year-round community resource guide filled with essential services, nonprofit contacts, and information designed to help connect families with the support they may need.
KWED Sales Manager Nick Spence says the issue was designed to do more than inform. He says it was built to make lives better.
“This is a great issue because it gives the community resources to use that they may not have even known existed,” said Spence.
The April issue celebrates the nonprofits that help hold Guadalupe County together “through services like food assistance, housing support, healthcare, crisis services, and education.”
Inside the issue, readers will find stories highlighting the impact of local nonprofits, including the Will Smith Zoo Schools and its role in early childhood education over at Seguin ISD’s Irma Lewis Seguin Outdoor Learning Center, as well as the South Texas Pregnancy Care Center and its recent achievement of becoming debt-free to better serve patients.
In fact, Janice Weaver, the executive director of the Seguin Pregnancy Care Center is featured on the cover.
The magazine also includes a complete directory of Guadalupe County nonprofits, along with contact information for each organization.
Spence says that in this case, the ads themselves serve a greater purpose.
“When people think about advertising, they usually think about businesses. What this issue really shows is that we’re not just here for business. We’re here for everyone. At KWED, we can work with just about any budget to help organizations share their message and reach the people who need them the most,” said Spence.
KWED is encouraging residents to pick up a copy, share it with loved ones, and/or place it somewhere accessible so the information can be used throughout the year. The April issue is meant to be shared.
Spence says even though the issue highlights nonprofits in April, KWED’s commitment to helping organizations connect with the community continues year-round.
“While this month highlights nonprofits, our support doesn’t stop here. You have to remember, we’re here year-round to help organizations and businesses alike connect with our community and grow their impact,” said Spence.
Copies of the April nonprofit issue are still available at Seguin Radio KWED. The radio station is located at 609 East Court Street. An online issue can also be found at SeguinToday.com.
