(Seguin) — The Seguin Matadors open their Class 5A bi-district baseball series against South San Antonio this afternoon at Matador Legends Ballpark.

Seguin finished the regular season 14-0 in District 27-5A, claiming the district championship for the second consecutive year. The Matadors defeated South San in last year’s bi-district round, two games to one.

This year’s series is also best-of-three. Game one is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday — moved up from the original 7 p.m. start due to the threat of inclement weather. Game two is Friday at 4 p.m. at the Frank Tejada Sports Complex in San Antonio. A decisive game three, if necessary, would be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the SAISD Sports Complex.

We’ll have today’s game one on KWED. Our Matador baseball pregame gets underway at around 4:50 p.m. on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

(Leander) — The Seguin Lady Matadors open their Class 5A area round softball series against Leander this afternoon.

Today’s game one has been moved up to 3 p.m. from its original 6 p.m. start time. Game two will be tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at Legends Ballpark in Seguin — and we’ll have that game live on KWED. If a game three is needed, it’ll be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Del Valle High School.

(Pleasanton) — The Navarro Panthers open their Class 4A bi-district baseball series against Pleasanton tonight at Pleasanton High School.

The District 28-4A champion Panthers will play game one at 6:30 p.m. — a half-hour earlier than originally scheduled. Game two is set for 7 p.m. Friday at Navarro High School. A game three, if necessary, would be played Saturday at 3 p.m. at Joe Gulley Park in Kenedy.
