(Guadalupe County) — Heavy rainfall across the area these last few days has prompted local officials to lift the burn ban effective immediately.
Guadalupe County officials says although fire dangers have decreased, the safety guidelines still remain the same.
Residents are especially asked to monitor wind conditions. Officials say burning is only allowed when wind speeds are between 6 and 23 miles per hour. In addition, “all burning must take place during daylight hours, with no active flames permitted after dark.”
Safety supervision is also required. Officials say, “an adult must be present at all times while a fire is burning and must have a water source readily available in case conditions change.”
For questions regarding burn rules, residents can contact the Guadalupe County Emergency management and fire marshal’s office at 830-303-8856.
