(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors will face the Southwest Lady Dragons in the bi-district round of the UIL softball playoffs next week.
The Lady Mats finished 11-1 in District 27-5A and are 20-11-1 overall. Southwest is 21-7 overall with a 12-2 record in District 28-5A. The two teams met in the bi-district round a year ago, with the Lady Matadors winning the best-of-three series two games to one.
This year’s playoff will also be a best-of-three series. Game one is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. at Matador Legends Ballpark. Game two will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Southwest High School. If a third game is necessary, it will be played Saturday at the SAISD Sports Complex at a time to be determined. Before the playoffs begin, the Lady Matadors will play a tune-up game tonight against Buda Johnson. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Matador Legends Ballpark.
