(Schertz) — The race for the Place 6 seat on the Schertz City Council is still undecided.
No candidate managed to reach a clear majority during Saturday’s special election to fill the seat that had been held by Allison Heyward, who stepped down in order to make an unsuccessful run for the Precinct 3 seat on the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court.
Sarah Dietz and Raquel Gutierrez finished one and two respectively in Saturday’s race.
Dietz received just over 45 percent of the votes, while Guiterrez garnered just shy of 40 percent.
Tiffany Gibson finished third with almost 14 percent, and Luz Ares rounded out the field with just over one percent of the votes cast.
