Child Welfare Board hosts Raffle Run

(Seguin) — Get ready to drive or ride around the county for a good cause. The Guadalupe County Child Welfare Board is inviting the community to take part in its 6th Annual Raffle Run this Saturday.

Unlike a traditional run, the event is vehicle-based, allowing participants to drive or ride to multiple designated stops throughout Guadalupe County. Organizers say the format is similar to a poker run, with participants collecting raffle tickets at each stop for a chance to win prizes.

The event is again open to a wide range of street-legal vehicles, including Jeeps, motorcycles, and classic cars. Participants will have access to eight poker locations across the county, including 1117 Smokehouse & Saloon, Big Easy Saloon, Blue Lotus Winery, Grain Bin Cafe & Store, Olmos Bar, Schultz Saloon, Seguin Brewing, and Windmill Farm Winery. Attendees are encouraged tovisit as many stops as they choose to increase their chances of winning raffle prizes.

Proceeds from the event benefit children in Child Protective Services care within Guadalupe County. The event will begin with registration from 11 am to noon at Max Starcke Park’s big pavilion. Entry fees are $30 for drivers, which includes a 50/50 raffle ticket, and $20 for passengers. Organizers note that lunch will not be provided thi year.
