(San Antonio) — The Seguin boys and girls soccer teams play today in the postseason. The Mats and Lady Mats take on San Antonio Southwest this afternoon in the first round of the playoffs.
The Seguin boys finished fourth in District 27-5A this season and are making their first playoff appearance in 12 years. The Lady Matadors also finished fourth in district and are in the postseason for just the second time in program history after qualifying for the playoffs last year. Both Southwest squads were champions of District 28-5A.
Seguin and Southwest are meeting in a girls/boys bi-district doubleheader at Southwest High School this afternoon. The girls start the twin bill with a 5:30 p.m. kickoff.
