(San Marcos) — Several area high school girls’ and boys’ basketball senior student-athletes were named Academic All-State by the Texas High School Coaches Association this week.
The Navarro Lady Panthers had four student-athletes selected. Hana Kay, Presley Larson, and Camden Shields were named to the Academic All-State second team. Trinity Loftice earned Academic All-State honorable mention.
For the Navarro Panthers boys’ basketball team, Chase Nored and Colorado Kenway were recognized on the Academic All-State second team.
Marion High School’s Eryn Beck was named to the Academic All-State first team in girls’ basketball. Brooke Hopcus earned second team honors, while Shadie Rabenaldt received an honorable mention.
On the boys’ side, six Marion Bulldogs earned Academic All-State recognition. Travis Randle was selected to the first team. Gavin Moltz and Marcelo Morales earned second team honors. Nate Halter, Giuseppe Castagnetto, and Jaiden Riley were named honorable mentions.
