Schertz man arrested on drug, firearm charges


(Seguin) – A Guadalupe County Narcotics Operation has led to the recent arrest of a Schertz man.

Investigators with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau Narcotics Unit, working alongside SWAT personnel, carried out the operation on Thursday, March 5 in Schertz. During the operation, authorities arrested Raymundo Ruvalcaba.

Ruvalcaba was booked into the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center and faces several local charges, including manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 — cocaine — in an amount between 4 and 200 grams, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, theft of a firearm, evading arrest or detention, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair.

Sheriff’s officials also said Ruvalcaba had active warrants issued out of Bexar County for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 (4 to 200 grams), evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, and a parole violation.

During the investigation and arrest, Guadalupe County investigators say they seized about 38.54 grams of cocaine and two firearms. One of the firearms was confirmed to be a stolen handgun.

The investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges possible.
