(Duncanville) — The Lifegate Christian teams are competing in the Texas Christian Athletic League Class 1A State Basketball Tournament near Dallas.
The Falcon boys play in the first round today against Waxahachie Mercy Prep. Tip-off is at 11:30 a.m.
The Lady Falcons — unbeaten through 13 games this season and the top seed in the girls tournament — play Friday at 10:30 a.m. after earning a first-round bye. The Lifegate girls have won four straight state championships.
The TCAL state tournament is being held at Duncanville Fieldhouse outside Dallas.
(Gonzales) — The Marion Bulldogs face Columbus in the UIL Class 3A Division I area round Friday night on KWED.
The Bulldogs routed Hondo 92-47 in the bi-district round Monday in Boerne. Marion senior Travis Randle scored 20 points in the first half and finished with 24 in the victory.
Columbus took down Karnes City 55-34 in their bi-district playoff game in Gonzales on Tuesday. The Cardinals won District 25-3A. They have a 17-6 overall record.
Marion, the champions of District 27-3A, is 27-7 on the season. The Bulldogs have won 10 straight games.
