Seguin Matadors walk off Steele; Lady Matadors and Lady Bulldogs pick up wins on Tuesday

(Seguin) — Sam Edwards doubled home Griffin Welfel with the game-winning run as the Seguin Matadors came back from two runs down in the bottom of the seventh to walk off Cibolo Steele on Tuesday night at Matador Legends Ballpark.

Down 5-3, Leighton Douglas doubled to lead off the seventh for Seguin. Ethan Tipple then doubled to bring home Douglas and make the score 5-4. After Tipple stole third, Griffin Welfel doubled to score Tipple and tie the game before Edwards delivered the game-winning hit.

The Matadors are now 9-2 on the season. Seguin will next play in the Clear Creek Tournament starting Thursday.

(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors won their home opener 13-3 over Floresville on Tuesday night at Legends Ballpark.

Brylee Wieding hit her fifth home run of the season with a three-run shot in the victory. The Lady Mats will host the Chloe Belicek Memorial Softball Tournament starting Thursday.

(Marion) — Two big innings from the Marion Lady Bulldogs propelled Marion past Ingram 11-7 on Tuesday night at Marion High School.

The Lady Bulldogs scored four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Alyson Robles drove in a pair with a hit in the bottom of the fourth. Cambry Dojahn started in the circle for Marion and went four and a third innings, with Alizayah Bernal tossing the final two and two-thirds. The Lady Bulldogs will next play in the Blanco Tournament starting Thursday.

(Geronimo) — The Navarro Lady Panthers fell in a 26-21 slugfest to Elgin in Geronimo on Tuesday night.

Shelbi Stevens hit two doubles and a triple in the loss. The Lady Panthers will host the Navarro Tournament starting Thursday.
