(San Antonio) — Seguin quarterback Corey Dailey impressed at the Navy All-American Bowl at the Alamodome on Saturday.

The game featured some of the top high school prospects in the country. Dailey, a four-star quarterback committed to Pitt, started at quarterback for the West squad.

With the West trailing 7-0 in the second quarter, Dailey led his team on a scoring drive. The Seguin signal-caller rolled right and hit USC commit Kayden Dixon-Wyatt for a six-yard touchdown on third down to tie the game with under five minutes remaining in the half.

After the game, Dailey said the touchdown pass was a play he ran many times as Seguin’s quarterback.

“That’s our bread and butter at Seguin,” Dailey said. “They dropped the defensive end and took the running back on the wheel route, so they left two backside receivers open, and I rolled out and hit him. It made it easy on me.”

Down 17-14 in the fourth quarter, Dailey drove the West downfield for a potential tying field goal, but the 35-yard attempt sailed wide, and the East ran out the clock to win.

Dailey finished 18-of-21, completing 86 percent of his passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. He talked about the speed of the game and playing alongside other Division I prospects.

“It was way faster. I think that’s the biggest adjustment I had to make in this game. They all play way faster,” Dailey said. “But you have the same speed on your side too, so it kind of evens out. You have to go through your reads faster and get your players the ball. That’s all I tried to do. I didn’t try to do too much.”

Dailey finished his career at Seguin as the school’s all-time leader in completions, passing yards, total yards, passing touchdowns, and total touchdowns. He graduated early and is now enrolled at Pitt, where he will participate in spring football.
