(Seguin) — This week’s Saturday Topic program on KWED Radio will focus on Seguin’s upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, one of the largest and most extensive MLK observances in the state of Texas.
Guests on the program will include members of the Seguin–Guadalupe County MLK Day Planning Committee, who are preparing for a five-day community celebration honoring the life, legacy, and vision of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..
The annual observance features an impressive lineup of worship services, music, fellowship, and community events that bring together residents from across Seguin and Guadalupe County. Activities begin Thursday, January 15, and continue through Monday, January 19, 2026.
Events include the Baptist Ministers Union Service, a community choir showcase, the MLK Banquet, a Gospel Fest, and the symbolic MLK March, which will step off from Texas Lutheran University and conclude in downtown Seguin.
Organizers say the celebration reflects Seguin’s long-standing commitment to unity, service, and honoring Dr. King’s message of justice and love.
Listeners can hear full details about the 2026 MLK celebration during Saturday Topic, airing at 8:30 a.m. Saturday on AM 1580 KWED. The program also streams live online at seguintoday.com and is available on any Alexa-enabled device by saying, “Alexa, play KWED Radio.”
