(Seguin) — Residents across the area are being reminded that all outdoor burning is prohibited today, as high winds have pushed conditions beyond state safety limits.
Officials say wind speeds exceed Texas Commission on Environmental Quality rules, making any type of burning unsafe. The ban includes barrel burning and all burn permits already issued, which are temporarily suspended for the day.
Authorities urge residents to follow the restriction to help prevent grass fires and protect property, first responders, and neighboring communities.
