SEDC launches monthly job seeker series

(Seguin) – Here’s to a new job in 2026.

The Seguin Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the Seguin Public Library, and Workforce Solutions Alamo (WSA) is excited to announce the launch of Ready, Set, Hired! — a free monthly professional development workshop designed to equip local job seekers, career changers, and currently employed individuals with the tools they need to enhance their careers, strengthen professional skills, and connect with local employers.

Held every third Wednesday at the Seguin Public Library, this interactive series brings together speakers from area companies, higher education institutions, and workforce experts to offer practical guidance on topics such as crafting a strong resume, writing compelling cover letters, sharpening interview techniques, navigating the job search process, and more. Each session is open to the public and suitable for individuals at all career stages.

The next Ready, Set, Hired! session will feature Caterpillar Inc., who will present Resume

Assistance and Social Media Networking on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Seguin Public Library, 313 W. Nolte St., Seguin, Texas. Participants will receive hands-on tips to improve their resumes and learn how to leverage  online platforms to increase visibility with employers.

“This partnership brings our resources together and expands our reach to better support job seekers in our community,” said Hannah Farmer, assistant library director with the Public Library. We aim to create a support system that helps residents pursue their employment goals by linking library resources, like skill-building tools and computer access, with the practical guidance of industry professionals.”

“We are thrilled to bring this resource directly to our community,” said Jessica Dersen, Workforce Development Manager with the Seguin Economic Development Corporation. “Our goal is to create a space where job seekers feel empowered, supported, and connected to real opportunities right here in Seguin.”

Registration is encouraged and can be completed through the city of Seguin Community
