(Schertz) — A Schertz police officer has been terminated following the launch of a criminal investigation into allegations of sexual assault and official oppression.
According to the Schertz Police Department, a report was initiated on Nov. 14, 2025, identifying Officer Alberto De La Torre as the alleged suspect. Four days later, on Nov. 18, De La Torre was fired after the department sustained an internal complaint related to truthfulness.
De La Torre had served with the agency since September 28, 2020, and was assigned as the department’s K-9 officer.
City officials note that all individuals connected to the case maintain the presumption of innocence as the investigative and judicial processes continue.
