CASA of Central Texas marks today as Adoption Day

CASA of Central Texas marks today as Adoption Day

Community invited to learn the joys of adoption, advocacy during public celebration

(New Braunfels) – CASA of Central Texas will be giving Seguin and Guadalupe County residents the chance to see the heart of advocacy up close. Whether you’ve ever considered becoming a CASA volunteer, wondered about the adoption process, or simply want to support children in foster care, organizers are inviting local families, community groups, and civic leaders to attend and experience the joy and purpose behind Adoption Day.

Today supporters will gather at the McKenna Center in New Braunfels as CASA of Central Texas hosts its annual Adoption Day celebration—an event designed not only to honor the families’ formalizing adoptions, but also to give the community a firsthand look at the profound impact that advocates and adoptive parents can make in a child’s life.

Held each November, Adoption Day lifts the resilience of children in foster care and celebrates the adults who step forward to guide and protect them. They say it’s also a rare opportunity for anyone considering becoming a CASA volunteer or exploring adoption to witness what those journeys look like in real time.

This year’s event includes the story of Ella; a young woman whose experience reflects why CASA advocates are so vital. Ella entered foster care at age 12 carrying trauma that made trust and stability feel out of reach. Her adoptive mother later shared that she imagined motherhood beginning with routines and laughter—but instead discovered that progress often came in the form of persistence and compassion.

Throughout Ella’s case, her CASA volunteer became a steady presence — ensuring that her needs weren’t lost in the shuffle of court dates, case files, and agency transitions. When Ella struggled to feel heard, CASA stepped in to make sure her voice remained central. Today, Ella is an adult, a mother, and a reminder that cycles can be broken when children are given advocates who won’t give up on them.

CASA leaders say today’s Adoption Day celebration is designed to inspire others to also get involved. The ceremony that begins at 9 a.m. is said to include 7 adoptions.

The McKenna Center is located at 801 W. San Antonio St in New Braunfels.
