Wilson Joseph “Jay” Burns Jr. 95 years of age of Seguin Texas passed away on November 11th, 2025 in Seguin Texas.

Jay was born in San Antonio, Texas to Wilson and Dorothy Burns January 25th, 1930. He served his country in the United States Marines with time in the Korean War. Prior to the Marines he was employed by the “Telephone Company South Western Bell”, upon returning from the Korean War he returned to the telephone company where he worked and retired after 35 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing all seasons with his wife Pam, family and friends where much of his time was spent in Rockport teaching the next generation how to tie the knots on the fishing lines. He also enjoyed hunting, and being involved with Livestock shows with the youth in addition to collecting classic cars and traveling to car shows.

Jay is survived by his wife Pamela Burns of 43 years of Seguin, Texas. Children, Randall Burns, Daryl Burns (Luanna), Stepdaughters Lori Schindler and Lisa Barnes (Scott), and sister Shirley Ritchie. Grandchildren, Heather, Lauren, Katherine, Britney, Joseph, Alex and Morgan. Numerus great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Son Russell Burns, siblings Dorothy, Ruth, Betty, Wade and Wayne.

The funeral services will be held at Mission Park Funeral Home South 1700 SE Military Dr. San Antonio, Texas on November 14th, 2025 with visitation at 10:00 AM followed by the services at 11:00 AM with Darin Burns officiating on behalf of his Uncle Jay. There will be a private interment at a later date where Jay will have is final resting place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
