(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors earned several all-district accolades following their District 27-5A championship season in 2025.
Senior setter Gisele Morales was named the district’s Most Valuable Player. The three-year letterman had 1,078 assists on the season, finishing with 2,992 assists in her Seguin career. Morales also had a team-leading 316 digs on the season.
Outside hitter Elli Anderson earned the district’s Offensive Most Valuable Player. The junior led Seguin with 506 kills in 2025. Anderson, a three-year letter, is only 24 kills away from 1,000 in her career.
Freshman Kassidy Dailey was named the district’s Newcomer of the Year. Dailey was second on the team behind Anderson with 371 kills on the season.
Junior Rebeka Wilke was named to the all-district first team. Wilke led the Lady Matadors in blocks this season with 82. She was third on the team in kills with 299.
Junior Britlyn Walls earned 2nd team all-district honors. Walls had 71 service aces on the season to lead the Lady Matadors.
Making the honorable mention list were three Lady Matadors. Seniors Mia Hernandez and Lilah Bird along with freshman Savannah Oaks received honorable mention recognition.
11 Lady Matadors were named to the Academic All-District team. Those recognized on the academic team were Anderson, Dailey, Bird, Morales, Walls, Wilke, Danica Rushlow, Bella Homan, Morgan Edwards, Annyn Houston and Kiersten Walls.
The Seguin Lady Matador volleyball team won 32 games overall in the 2025 season and finished as the outright champions in District 27-5A with an unblemished 16-0 district mark. Seguin, led by fourth-year head coach Ashley Farris, advanced to the UIL Class 5A Region IV Division I area round after defeating San Antonio John Jay in the bi-district round.
