(Marion) — Following an undefeated District 27-3A season, the Marion Lady Bulldog volleyball team brought home an impressive haul of all-district accolades led by the District MVP Madi Love. The senior middle blocker capped off her volleyball career with the MVP after making the all-district first team last season and the second team two seasons ago.
Joining Love in the district accolades were fellow seniors Lailah Hernandez and Ellie Parker. Hernandez was named the district Libero of the Year while Parker was tabbed the district Setter of the Year.
The Lady Bulldogs were a perfect 10-0 in district play, earning the outright district title. Marion opened the district season in September by ending Randolph’s 59-match district winning streak in front of a capacity crowd at Marion High School.
Marion defeated Hondo in the UIL Class 3A Division I Bi-District round before falling to 4th-ranked Columbus in the Area round. The Marion Lady Bulldogs finished the season with a 31-9 overall record. The Lady Bulldogs were led by first-year head coach Bree Holz-Gonzales.
