(Seguin) – You’ve got a couple of more days to enjoy the “spook-tacular” sights in downtown Seguin.
That’s because the top winners of this year’s 2025 Decorated Scarecrows and Skeletons Contest are still on window display at local downtown businesses. The contest is hosted each year by the City of Seguin Main Street Program and Destination Seguin.
The imaginative displays were crafted by local businesses, schools, and organizations.
Taking home Best Overall honors was the Seguin Art League. Austin Street Vintage earned First Place, followed by Golden Locks Salon in Second Place, and 1916 Bar & Bistro rounding out the top three with Third Place.
Several participants also received special recognition awards for their unique themes and spirited designs. The Nuttiest Squirrel Award went to Main Street & Destination Seguin, while Liefies Rescue earned The Care Crow Award for their heartwarming entry. The Most “Drama”tic Award was presented to Seguin High School’s Matador Theatre, whose theatrical display drew plenty of attention.
Rounding out the honors was the Seguin Chamber of Commerce who was named Most Spirited. Pecan Country Chiropractic earned the Most Spine-Tingling Award, RE/MAX Go took home Best in the Patch, and Vogue Shoes won the Sunflowers in Vogue Award.
Main Street Director organizers said the annual contest continues to grow in creativity and community engagement each year, drawing both residents and visitors downtown to enjoy the festive displays.
Serving as judges for this year’s contest were Mary Reiley, Jennifer Sourdellia, and Brittney Watson.
