Lifegate volleyball team finishes as state runners-up at TCAL 1A state tournament

(Austin) — The Lifegate Christian Academy volleyball team finished as the runners-up at the Texas Christian Athletic League’s Class 1A State Championship tournament on Saturday at St. Edward’s University in Austin.

The Lady Falcons fell just one match short of a state title in a loss to Pasadena Faith Christian in the championship match. Lifegate players Maegan Zurovec, Sharla Maples, Presley Lanier, and Tenley Lyssy were named to the all-tournament team.

The Lady Falcons entered the tournament as the Class 1A Region IV top seed. Lifegate won 13 matches during the 2025 season. Pasadena Faith Christian was the top seed out of Region III.
