Chick-fil-A owner offers helpful tips for navigating through Opening Day

(Seguin) — Mooooove over breakfast tacos. that’s because Seguin is finally getting its “EAT MOR CHIKIN” moment. After months of anticipation, Seguin’s first-ever Chick-fil-A opens its doors today (Thursday, Oct. 23) at 6:30 a.m.

The new restaurant is located at 1650 C.H. Matthies Drive, along the I-10 frontage road next to Bill Miller’s BBQ.

Owner and operator Weillen Garduno-Hernandez says although her team is ready for the rush, she is asking customers to not only pack a little patience but to also take advantage of the restaurant’s ordering technology.

“Our outer lane will be strictly for mobile orders so if there is anyone who is in a rush or who wants to know, ‘OK, how do I skip this line?’ — because we are anticipating a long line—place a mobile order,” said Garduno-Hernandez. “Go through the drive-thru, come inside, or use one of our five designated parking spots. There are so many venues where you can order ahead and skip the ordering process. I’ll place a big emphasis on our Mobile Thru—it’s super simple.”

She adds that guests should download the Chick-fil-A app ahead of time to make the most of their visit.

“Just place a mobile order, check in when you’re here, and go through the drive thru. We’ll have people out there making sure our guests are good to go. I know it’s going to be crazy and hectic, but if guests are looking to order ahead or get a quick lunch, the mobile app works really well for that,” said Garduno-Hernandez.

Now for those who have a little time to spare, the owner encourages customers to come inside and check out Seguin’s new restaurant. She says along with inside dining, they offer an outdoor patio and playscape.

The restaurant will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closed on Sundays, in keeping with Chick-fil-A tradition.

With large crowds expected, the Seguin Police Department will be on hand to help manage traffic throughout the day.
