(Seguin) — Three former Seguin High School student-athletes will be inducted into the Seguin ISD Athletic Hall of Honor on Friday.

Ivy Koehler-Meehan, Marvin Clack Jr., and P.J. Hall will be enshrined into the Hall.

Koehler-Meehan, a 2005 Seguin graduate, was a four-year varsity athlete in girls’ basketball and golf. She earned numerous honors during her high school career, including Academic All-State recognition. Koehler-Meehan received a four-year golf scholarship to Northwood University. Later, her voice was heard on KWED as a commentator on Seguin High School football broadcasts. Koehler-Meehan and former KWED sports director Mike McBride won two Texas Association of Broadcasters awards for best sports broadcast.

Marvin Clack Jr. was a standout athlete at Seguin High School, competing in football, track, and baseball. He earned a baseball scholarship to Mary Hardin-Baylor University. In 1980, he was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates after a tryout with the team. Clack had an extensive minor league baseball career. He was a part of two minor league championship-winning teams during his pro career.

P.J. Hall was a standout Matador athlete. He earned 1st Team All-District honors at both running back and defensive end. He also excelled in powerlifting, finishing second in the state, and he placed 4th in the shot put at the state meet. Hall played college football at Sam Houston State. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Hall later played for the Houston Texans and in the UFL for the San Antonio Brahmas and Memphis Showboats.

Koehler-Meehan, Clack Jr., and Hall will be inducted into the Seguin ISD Athletic Hall of Honor before Friday night’s Seguin/Smithson Valley football game at Matador Stadium. We’ll have the game on KWED. And Koehler-Meehan and Mike McBride will return to the KWED airwaves when they join us at halftime of Friday night’s broadcast.
