Renovated offices reopen today
(Schertz) — Guadalupe County officials are preparing to welcome the public back to the Schertz Annex Building. The county today will open its doors to the newly renovated facility. The newly expanded office is located at 1101 Elbel Road in Schertz. County officials say the expanded office space aims to improve accessibility while enhancing overall customer service for area residents.
They say beginning today, the offices of the County Clerk, District Clerk, and Elections will be fully operational and ready to serve the public. The Precinct 3 offices of the Constable and Justice of the Peace are expected to transition into the new facility in the coming weeks.
“We are excited to welcome the public into our renovated facility,” said Commissioner Pct. 3 Michael Carpenter. “This renovation project reflects our commitment to improving access, efficiency, and comfort for the community we serve daily. We are just in time and ready to accommodate voters in the upcoming election.”
The renovation project includes a new secure main entrance facing the large parking lot and nearby post office. County officials say significant changes were also made to streamline daily operations and better accommodate residents seeking county services.
Planning for the $4.14 million capital project began in Fall 2023. Renovation designs were under the direction of Debra J. Dockery Architecture, P.C., while work was completed by Tejas Premier Building Contractor Inc.
