Seguin Prepares for One-of-a-Kind Summer Send-Off Celebration This Saturday

(Seguin) — The end of summer is getting a special send-off this Saturday in downtown Seguin, as Seguin Main Street and Seguin Radio KWED team up to throw a night-time end of summer party.

But before the sun sets, food trucks and special vendors will be on site, bringing you meals all day long.

Attendees can treat themselves to a full menu of flavors, from burgers and fries at UBP Burgers to birria tacos, ramen, and tortas from Las Dos Catrinas. Davila’s BBQ will also be bringing their crowd favorites—brisket tacos, turkey legs, and smash burgers—alongside some Big Red cake sundaes. Even Gus’s Fried Chicken will make the trip to Seguin serving up its award winning recipe.

Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee will also keep everyone energized with coffee, tea, and lemonade, while Wiggle Waggle and Sip ‘N Sisters round out the drink and dessert options with shaved ice, smoothies, and signature lemonades.

Beyond the food trucks, organizers say other vendors will be also offering a wide range of treats and activities. Funnel cakes, kettle corn and ribbon fries are among the items – along with unique goods like freeze-dried candy, crystals, and handmade jewelry available from local artisans. There’s also fun for the whole family, including face painting, hair braiding, and even a chance to adopt a puppy through Kingdom Rescue.

The Seguin Field of Honor will also be on hand to share details about its upcoming Veterans tribute and flag dedication.

Highlighting the day will, of course, be a bonus concert in Central Park.

The fun gets underway at 6 p.m. Saturday with Seguin’s own DJ DTrayne. Then from 7 to 9 p.m., Austin Gilliam and The Well Fed Texans will take the stage to make up for the previously canceled Freedom Fiesta concert and one of the missed bands during Seguin Main Street’s Central Park Concert Series. Organizers say the band will provide a blend of Texas rock and country music.

The concert is free. All food trucks and vendors again will be on hand during the concert. Most, however, have already opted to set up early and will be selling food throughout the day around Central Park.

Blankets and lawn chairs encouraged.
