(Austin) — More help could soon be on the way for local residents impacted by the recent flooding. Guadalupe County has now been added to the federal disaster declaration list, following an announcement by Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday.
That means individuals and families in this area may now qualify for FEMA assistance programs to help with recovery efforts. The declaration, issued under President Trump’s Major Disaster Declaration, also includes Kimble, McCulloch, and Menard Counties for individual aid.
Six other counties—Edwards, Lampasas, Real, Reeves, Schleicher, and Sutton—have been approved for FEMA’s public assistance program. Officials say more counties may be added as damage assessments continue.
