Guadalupe County man arrested following aggravated assault, drug bust

(Seguin) — A Guadalupe County man is behind bars after sheriff’s deputies uncovered weapons and large amounts of drugs during an investigation into a violent assault.

On Thursday, deputies with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) responded to reports of an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 2200 block of FM 467. Investigators with the GCSO Criminal Investigations Division (CID) quickly identified the suspect as Jorge Erik Segura, a 20-year-old resident of Guadalupe County.

Following a series of interviews, CID investigators obtained a felony arrest warrant for Segura. That same day, the GCSO SWAT team executed a search warrant at the residence where the alleged assault occurred.

Inside the home, officials say investigators recovered key evidence related to the assault. They also discovered a stockpile of weapons, including four pistols and one assault-style pistol. During the search, deputies also uncovered what authorities describe as evidence of illegal drug distribution.

Seized at the scene were 216 grams of THC vape cartridges, 310 grams of THC-infused edibles, 76 grams of psilocybin (commonly known as psychedelic mushrooms), and additional materials tied to drug trafficking activity.

Segura was taken into custody and booked into the Guadalupe County Jail. Charges include Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances.

The investigation remains ongoing.
