Get Ready to Glow! Freedom Fiesta to light up this July 5

(Seguin) — Seguin’s biggest summer celebration returns this Saturday to downtown Seguin.

KWED’s annual Freedom Fiesta is back and brighter than ever with music, dancing and a “glowing good time.” The free event will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. in Central Park.

In addition to red, white and blue, this year’s added theme is “Glow Up!” Families are invited to light up the night with glow sticks, necklaces, bracelets and more.

Headlining the party this year will be Clint Taft and the Buck Wild Band, joining him on stage will be Clint’s very own son, Colton. Also ensuring a good time on his own dance floor will be crowd favorite D.J. DTrayne.

Not only will food trucks and non-profit food vendors be on hand but there will be plenty of family fun such as moon bounces, face painting, patriotic hair braiding, balloon animals, a petting zoo plus a “glowing” surprise during this year’s after-dark dance party!

Kingdom Rescue will also be on site with its pet adoption booth — perfect for anyone looking to give a furry friend a forever home. Local arts and crafts vendors will also be on hand.

Kicking off the evening will again be the Guadalupe County Republican Women’s Kiddie Parade, led this year by none other than Uncle Sam himself — aka Sheriff Joshua Ray. Kids are encouraged to decorate their strollers, wagons, bikes, skateboards or motorized vehicles and follow Uncle Sam as he leads them around Central Park. Prizes will be given to the top winners in the various categories.

Seguin Radio KWED has also teamed up with Attorney Ruben James Reyes to give every participant in the Kiddie Parade a chance to win an exciting grand prize — something big, fun, and sure to impress!

KWED General Manager Darren Dunn says this year’s event is going to be the best yet.

“Freedom Fiesta is our gift back to the community,” said Dunn. “It’s a night to hang out, have fun, and just enjoy being together.”

He also gives a big shout out to the event’s generous sponsors, saying,

“Without them, none of this would be possible. We’re incredibly blessed to have such strong support from the Seguin business community.”

Freedom Fiesta, this year, will help wrap up the list of Independence Day celebrations for the city of Seguin. Events leading up to the Saturday night celebration include the city’s Fireworks Fiesta on Thursday, July 3

and the Flag Raising and Biggest Small Town Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m. Friday, July 4.
