Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today
Castulo "Ernest" Vega, Jr.

Castulo “Ernest” Vega, Jr. of Seguin, Texas passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1936, in La Vernia. He married the “love of his life” Clara Vega, in 1956. They had 57 years of marriage together!

Ernest built a career as a welder. He worked many years at Randolph and Kelly Air Force Base. He was a great man with amazing character, integrity, and a huge heart and gave generously. He was a wonderful role model, trusted counselor, and champion for our family. He was also an avid golfer and an experienced fisherman. He worked hard, had high expectations and provided a better living for his family. He was a wise man and read the newspaper and bible daily. We will miss his stories he started with, “I tell you…”

He leaves behind four children, seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, neighbors and many friends.

A memorial service celebrating Castillo’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at St. James Catholic Church. We will have a Rosary, at 9:30am. The mass will begin at 10am and reception will follow in the Parish Hall and everyone is invited! Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, located at 510 Camp street, in Seguin.
