(Seguin) — The music keeps rolling in downtown Seguin as the Summer Concert Series presented by Seguin Chevrolet continues with a soulful performance by Karess. Join us on Sunday, June 15, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Central Park for an unforgettable evening of live R&B music, featuring the talented members of Karess and a special guest saxophonist.
Karess began in 1993 as a Seguin-based band rooted in a love for R&B, hip hop, and blues. Coming from families of musicians, we were inspired to form a group that reflected our musical heritage and passion. As a new band, we were fortunate to perform at various venues in Seguin and the surrounding areas. One of our most exciting early opportunities was playing at the NCO Club on the San Antonio Military Base—an invitation that came purely through word of mouth, before we even had a demo.
Over the years, our sound has grown to include a wide range of genres, from gospel and jazz to oldies, while staying true to our R&B roots. Today, each member of KARESS is an experienced musician, actively recording and performing across various stages.
This concert will be a special reunion for KARESS, featuring several guest musicians. We’re thrilled to collaborate with. We’re honored to be part of Seguin’s Summer Concert Series in the Park and can’t wait to share this moment with the community.
The lineup includes: Donnie Wilson, Ronnie Rliles Jr.and 2 Fresh, keys and vocals; Rodney Durst Sr., bass guitar; JeRome Harper and Jerry Rios, rhythm and lead guitars; Brandan J and Branch Booker, keys; Isacc Devaughn Ellis, drums and percussion; and special guest saxophonist Shaakir.
The concert series continues June 22, Unplugged Acoustic performance by Bobby Pulido with special guest Roberto Pulido. The final concert on June 29 will feature the San Antonio Symphonic Band playing a variety of patriotic, classical, and big band music.
Different food vendors will be rotating for each concert, so the menu will change each week. The concerts will be on Sundays starting at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. The family-friendly concerts are free and offer something for every musical taste. Bring a chair or blanket and sit back, relax, and enjoy!
