Surface water levels in some parts of this area are still low, despite recent rains. Officials with the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, or GBRA, say the water flow levels are the lowest ever recorded since record keeping began over 100 years ago. Canyon Lake is only 45-percent full. There’s more rain in the forecast this week, but this is again expected to be a hot and dry summer. A Facebook group supporting Canyon Lake shared photos showing low water levels such as the one above, hoping to give families an early heads-up so they can make alternate plans to cool off.
