(Seguin) — A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Guadalupe County and surrounding areas until 6:30 a.m., but weather concerns are far from over.

The National Weather Service has extended a Flood Watch for most of South Central Texas — including Seguin — through this evening.

Forecasters warn that additional rainfall of one to three inches is expected across the region, with isolated spots possibly seeing up to six inches of rain. The threat of flash flooding remains high, particularly in areas with poor drainage, near rivers, creeks, and low-water crossings.

Counties included in the watch area span a broad portion of the region, such as Guadalupe, Bexar, Comal, Caldwell, Hays, Gonzales, and Wilson.

The primary hazard is excessive runoff, which could result in rapidly rising water levels in creeks and streams, as well as flooding in low-lying areas and roadways. The weather system responsible for this activity has already produced heavy rainfall overnight and could continue to impact travel and outdoor plans into Thursday evening.

Residents are urged to stay alert for possible flood warnings later today and to take caution if driving. “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” remains the message for those encountering water-covered roadways.
