(Seguin) — TLU is offering local families another way to cool off this summer.
Tracy Donley, TLU director of communications, says the Texas Lutheran University Mabee Pool is officially open for business and is currently accepting memberships for summer long access.
“The way the Mabee Pool works is you purchase a membership. You can purchase a membership for just an individual or for a family. Each family is allowed to bring two guests per visit. You buy a guest pass if your kids want to bring their friends. It’s $5 per person. They have lifeguards on duty. It’s a great place but a membership is necessary to get in,” said Donley.
Memberships are available for individuals and families, with discounts for TLU alumni. A family membership for four is $300 or $240 for TLU alumni. The cost is $20 for each additional family member. The membership cost is reduced for individuals and smaller families with prices ranging from $80 to $255.
The pool can also be rented for private parties. Ages 12 and below must be accompanied by an adult member. Those ages 13-18 without an adult accompanying them must take and pass a swim test prior to using the pool. Membership also includes access to the fitness center locker rooms.
Donley says summer fun at the TLU pool will run through Aug. 7th.
“The pool is open from Monday through Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. We just encourage people to come and look at a membership. If they are interested, they can go to the TLU website and get all the information about that and sign up for a membership. It’s just a way to have another place to go to get cooled off and have a good time,” said Donley.
