KWED to carry TLU College World Series games

TLU Softball X

(Bloomington, Illinois) — The Texas Lutheran softball team will go for the second national championship in program history when they compete at the 2025 Division-III Women’s College World Series and we’ll have all of the action on AM 1580 KWED.

TLU clinched its fourth WCWS appearance with a 2-0 elimination victory over defending national champion, No. 1 East Texas Baptist on May 23rd at the NCAA Marshall Super Regional. The Bulldogs swept the series with the Tigers, two games to none, after winning a thrilling game one 4-3 in 10 innings on May 22nd. Amanda White was named the Super Regional’s Most Outstanding Pitcher while Caelee Clark was named Most Outstanding Player.

The Bulldogs swept through the Ithaca, New York Regional to get to the Super Regional. They are still on the best pace to start a season in program history at 44-3 and have outscored their three postseason opponents 21-6.

The Bulldogs are making their fourth appearance all-time in the D3 Women’s College World Series – all coming since 2019. TLU, the tournament’s No. 7 seed, will open against No. 2 seed Rowan University on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Inspiration Field in Bloomington, Illinois. The World Series follows a double-elimination bracket format until two teams are left. The final two teams then face off in a best-of-three championship series to determine the national champion.

We’ll have Thursday’s game and all of TLU’s World Series games on AM 1580 KWED and streaming at SeguinToday.com.
