(Seguin) — A journey toward healing begins this weekend during a special free group workshop titled, “Understanding Emotional Triggers.
Partnering up for the event is Pecantown Books & Brews and Paula King Harper, a respected speaker and executive pastor of the Voice Revival Center.
The event, which requires free registration, will be held at the local bookstore this Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Harper says during the intimate two-hour session, participants will explore the various emotional triggers that impact daily life and relationships. Through open discussion and guided reflection, she says attendees will learn strategies to better identify, understand, and manage these triggers—skills that are especially crucial in today’s fast-paced and emotionally demanding world.
“What they can expect is a discussion on emotional triggers. What triggers actually are? We talk about how to manage triggers and try to understand why maybe other people (have them) – maybe you don’t have a problem with emotional triggers. Maybe your mental health is solid but what if you are around other people that exhibit behaviors that cause concern for you. Maybe this workshop can be something that helps you understand them a little bit better or opens the door for you creating space to share the information with them that you learned,” said Harper.
Harper believes this workshop is a much-needed opportunity to slow down, reflect, and gain valuable tools for emotional resilience.
“It’s a very small setting and that’s intentional. We try to keep it as confidential and as personal as possible and the setting at Pecantown is perfect. I think our goal was 20 people and no more than 20 and if I need to come back and do another workshop, Tess and I are both open to making that happen for the community,” said Harper.
The event is free and open to the public, but again, space is limited, and RSVP is required. Registration can be found online at pecantownbooks.com-slash-events.
