SEGUIN, Texas — The reigning 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Regular Season Champion Texas Lutheran Bulldogs earned the No. 10 overall seed in the 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament and will travel to Ithaca, New York, for the first time ever for the NCAA Ithaca Regional at Kostrinsky Field May 15-17. The Regional will be hosted by No. 23/24 Ithaca College and heading to Kostrinsky Field along with the Bulldogs will be UMass-Boston and Springfield College.
This is the 11th consecutive season that the Bulldogs have played in a regional. Play will start Thursday, May 15 when TLU takes on UMass-Boston at 11 AM EST. Ithaca will then take on Springfield at 1:30 PM EST on ncaa.com.
Thursday’s winners will play game three at 11 AM EST Friday, May 16, while the losing teams from Thursday will meet in game four shortly after. Friday’s games will conclude with the loser of game three and the winner of game four in a win-or-go-home meeting. The start time for Saturday’s regional final will be 11 AM EST, weather permitting.
The SCAC has two teams in this year’s NCAA Tournament with St. Thomas earning the conference’s automatic qualifying bid. The winner of the Ithaca Regional will advance to the NCAA Super Regional against the winner of the Marshall Regional, hosted by the No. 1-overall seed East Texas Baptist Tigers.
TLU has made the NCAA Tournament in 11 consecutive seasons, good for every year since joining the SCAC and all under head coach Wade Wilson. TLU has made the regional championship in nine straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
The Bulldogs (39-3) have a history of success in the NCAA Softball Tournament, entering this year’s tournament with an overall record of 36-19 and a NCAA regional record of 21-14 since their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2014.
