Power outage leaves residents, schools in the dark

Power outage leaves residents, schools in the dark

(Seguin) – All things appear to be back in working order. That’s after residents on the city’s west side were forced to operate in the dark Monday morning.

City of Seguin officials say up and down outage issues began just before 6 a.m. after the LCRA substation went down.

After the city reported some challenges in restoring power to some parts of the area, the decision was made by the Seguin ISD to release students early at three Seguin ISD campuses. Those campuses included Jefferson Avenue Elementary School, Rodriguez Elementary School and AJ Breisemeister Middle School. However, soon after that decision was made by the school district, power was restored to those respective schools – giving families the option of keeping them in class.

City officials say they do apologize to customers for the inconvenience and frustration that the outage might have caused. It wasn’t until noon when the city announced that full power had been restored.
