Juvenile responsible for high-speed chase

(Guadalupe County) — Guadalupe County sheriff’s deputies have apprehended a 16-year old suspect, who led them on a high-speed chase over the weekend.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies were notified of a black Dodge Challenger traveling south on State Highway 130.

The vehicle was believed to be associated with a fugitive wanted for cases in both Guadalupe and Travis counties.

Guadalupe County Sheriff Joshua Ray says deputies spotted the vehicle traveling west on Interstate 10, near mile marker 610.

He says when deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver took off, leading to the high-speed chase.

The chase would leave the highway, and deputies eventually lost sight of the vehicle on Youngsford Road, near Marion.

It wasn’t until Sunday night that they were able to follow up with the vehicle and arrest the suspect in the 300 block of Bar H Lane.

The teenage driver was taken into custody, and the vehicle was seized as evidence.
