(Geronimo) — The Navarro Panthers completed a district sweep of Canyon Lake with a 16-8 win at Navarro High School on Friday night.

Noah Rosas launched a three-run shot to right in the first inning as the Panthers put five runs on the board. Navarro scored four in the second and another five in the third inning. Rosas finished with three hits and five RBI. Matthew Villanueva had two hits including a double and drove in four runs.

The Panthers won both their games over Canyon Lake last week and have won three straight District 27-4A games after opening their district schedule with a loss. Navarro is 15-2 overall on the season. Navarro will host Bandera on Tuesday night.

(Seguin) — The Seguin Matadors improved to 8-0 in District 27-5A with a 12-2 run-rule victory over San Antonio Brackenridge at Matador Legends Ballpark on Friday.

Seguin’s Corey Dailey hit an inside the park home run in the fifth inning and finished the game with three hits. Kevin Lingueno doubled and tripled and also finished with three hits. And Samuel Edwards drove in four runs for the Mats in the district victory.

On Saturday, Seguin fell 6-2 in a non-district home game to Boerne Champion. The Matadors will get back to district play on Thursday when they play at San Antonio Edison.

(Marion) — The Marion baseball team won their fourth straight District 26-3A game with a 16-0 run-rule victory at home on Friday over Poteet.

Eli Parker doubled and Huck Schoenvogel tripled in a three-run second inning for the Bulldogs. Marion’s Gage Hamilton went the distance on the mound getting the shutout.

The Bulldogs are 4-1 in district. They’ll be in Jourdanton on Tuesday looking for revenge. The Indians snapped Marion’s 45-game district win streak in the first game of the district season at Marion High School on March 14th, winning 10-8 in nine innings. First pitch on Tuesday takes place at 7 p.m. at Jourdanton High School.

(Poteet) — A Gianna Ricarte bases-clearing double in the fifth inning turned a one-run deficit into a two-run lead as the Marion Lady Bulldogs took down the Poteet Lady Aggies 4-2 on the road on Friday.

The double from the senior Ricarte, who will play at McMurry University next year, capped a four-run inning for Marion. Alizayah Bernal worked the final three innings in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs and struck out five in earning the victory.

Marion is 5-0 in District 26-3A. The Lady Bulldogs play at Jourdanton on Tuesday.

(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors are 9-0 in District 27-5A after they run-ruled Brackenridge 16-1 on Friday at Legends Ballpark.

Camden Mickes, Camryn Rios, Morgan Schultze and Marissa Torrence all drove in three runs for the Lady Mats. Torrence got the win in the circle striking out six in three innings pitched.

Seguin will play Edison on Tuesday at the SA ISD Sports Complex. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.

(San Antonio) — And the Navarro Lady Panthers fell 15-2 on Friday at Davenport.

Junior Shelbi Stevens hit her 8th home run of the season in the defeat. Stevens hit a school record 10 homers last year for Navarro.
