(Seguin) — We have Seguin Lady Matador softball tonight on the radio as they take on San Antonio Jefferson in District 27-5A play at Matador Legends Ballpark on KWED.

Seguin is 7-0 in district and 15-1 overall on the season, their first at the new Legends Ballpark. The Lady Matadors have yet to lose a game at their new ballpark and have four more games left at home on their regular season schedule. Seguin head softball coach John Garcia invites everyone to come see the Lady Mats and Matador baseball team play at the new facility.

“I can’t thank the voters enough for voting this in and allowing us to have this. And if anybody gets a chance, they need to come by and just see the park, baseball and softball,” Garcia said. “If you’d just seen what baseball used to have, I mean this is just light years better. The batting cages are amazing. I invite everybody, come on down and see this place.”

Tonight’s game between Seguin and Jefferson at Matador Legends Ballpark can be heard on KWED. Our Seguin softball coverage starts at 7 O’clock where we’ll talk more with Coach Garcia leading up to first pitch at 7:15 p.m. on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

(Seguin) — The Seguin baseball team is also playing Jefferson next door to the softball tfield at Legends Ballpark this afternoon.

Like the softball team, the Mats are in first place in district. They are unbeaten through six games in District 27-5A. They have seven games left at the new ballpark starting with today’s game with Jefferson. First pitch in today’s game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

(Fischer) — The Navarro Panthers, 1-1 in District 27-4A, are on the road at Canyon Lake tonight.

Navarro split district games with Davenport last week and will play two with the Hawks this week. The teams will meet tonight and on Friday. Friday’s game will be held at Navarro High School and we’ll have that game on KWED. Tonight’s game between Canyon Lake and Navarro gets underway at 7 p.m. at Canyon Lake High School.

(Geronimo) — The Navarro Lady Panther softball team hosts Fredericksburg tonight.

The Lady Panthers are 1-3 in district play. Shelbi Stevens is swinging a hot bat for Navarro. The junior, who broke the Navarro High School single season home run and RBI records with 10 homers and 54 runs batted in last season, went 6-for-7 at the plate in two games last week with a home run, five RBI and three steals.

Navarro and Fredericksburg will meet tonight at Navarro High School. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.

(Marion) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs are 3-0 in District 26-3A as they host San Antonio Cole tonight.

Marion run-ruled Randolph 15-0 at home this past Friday. Sophomore Cambry Dojahn had five RBI including a three on a first inning homer and tossed a complete game in Friday’s victory. Tonight’s game between Marion and Cole starts at 6 p.m. at Marion High School.

(Marion) — The Marion baseball team, winners of two straight, also hosts Cole today.

The Bulldogs also run-ruled Randolph at home last Friday, winning 13-3. Marion is looking to improve to 3-1 in district against the Cougars this afternoon. First pitch is set for 5 O’clock.
