Annual Raffle Run to benefit local non-profit for kids

(Seguin) – It’s time to take those vehicles for a spin this weekend.

Pre-registration is currently underway for the annual Raffle Run benefiting the Guadalupe County Child Welfare Board.  The fundraiser begins and ends on Saturday at the big pavilion located at Max Starcke Park East.

Similar to a poker run, Diane Anderson-Glover, of the Child Welfare Board, says this event is more creative and attracts more people to participate in whatever street legal vehicle they choose.

“The Guadalupe County Child Welfare Board will be hosting our fifth annual Raffle Run. It will be this Saturday at Max Starcke Park. Come out and register. It’s not a physical run. You hop into your vehicle, and you go around up to eight different locations in the county and collect raffle tickets for some amazing items. Help to support the Guadalupe County Child Welfare Board where every penny we receive, stays here in our county,” said Glover.

Glover is encouraging more motorcycle and car clubs to join in on the fun. The entry fee is $30 and $20 for participating passengers. Each $30 entry fee includes a meal ticket plus a 50/50 raffle ticket. The $20 passenger fee also includes a meal.

The menu will include a Davila’s BBQ brisket sandwich, chips, cookie and a drink. Registration on the day of the event will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Proceeds raised will benefit the welfare board which assists abused and neglected children currently in CPS (Child Protective Services) care in Guadalupe County.

To register online visit www.gccwb.org.  Those wishing to donate raffle items or who would like to sign up as a vendor are asked to email dianeglover@gvec.net.
