(Seguin) — We have baseball on the radio today on KWED with the Seguin Matadors and Sam Houston Hurricanes.
Those two teams will meet this afternoon in a District 27-5A tilt at the new Matador Legends Ballpark. Seguin is off to a torrid start in district. The Mats, coming off a 14-0 run-rule victory over Highlands this past Friday, are 4-0 and in first place in the district. The Hurricanes are winless in district play.
The Matadors are playing at home for the first time in 13 days. Today’s game between Seguin and Sam Houston gets underway at 4:30 p.m.

(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matador softball team is off tonight.
The Lady Mats have won 14 of their first 15 games this season, earning them a No. 10 ranking in the latest Class 5A Texas Girls Coaches Association State Softball Poll. The Top 10 Seguin Lady Matadors are 6-0 in District 27-5A. They will play San Antonio Lanier on the road on Friday.
(Seguin) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs are in Seguin today. Marion will take on the San Antonio Homeschool Saints at the Fields at Huber Ranch in non-district play.
Marion is 2-0 in District 26-3A. They return to district play when they host Randolph on Friday in a game you’ll be able to hear on KWED.
Today’s game between Marion and the San Antonio Saints starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Fields at Huber Ranch.
(San Antonio) — The Marion Bulldog baseball team is in San Antonio today to take on Great Hearts Northern Oaks in district play.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 15-2 non-district run-rule victory over New Braunfels Long Creek last week. The win was the 200th career victory for Marion head coach Tim Tesch. The Bulldogs and Griffins meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Great Hearts Northern Oaks school in San Antonio.
(Geronimo) — The Navarro Panthers open District 27-4A play tonight with the first of two games this week against Davenport.
Navarro went 12-1 in non-district play. Davenport comes into district play at 12-2. The Panthers and Wolves meet tonight in Geronimo. They will meet again Friday at Davenport High School. Tonight’s game starts at 7 p.m. at Navarro High School.
(Geronimo) — The Navarro Lady Panthers host Bandera at the softball field at Navarro High School tonight.
The Lady Panthers will try for their first district win after dropping their first two district games. First pitch between the Lady Panthers and Bander Lady Bulldogs takes place at 7 O’clock tonight in Geronimo.
SEGUIN, Texas — For the second time this season, Texas Lutheran pitcher Triston McGowan (Vidor/Vidor) is the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week.
The junior right-hander went the distance on Saturday, securing the series win for the Bulldogs at home against Austin College, tossing all nine innings in a 6-2 victory for TLU. He scattered five hits over the game, allowing just two earned runs and striking out eight
The Bulldogs are 17-7 overall on the season and 10-5 in the SCAC. TLU will host Southwestern in conference play Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Katt-Isbell Field on the TLU campus.
(San Antonio) — The TLU Bulldog softball team is in San Antonio tonight.
The Bulldogs lead the SCAC at 13-1. TLU is 21-1 overall on the season and ranked 9th in the latest D3 coaches poll.
The Bulldogs play at Trinity this evening in a battle of the first and second-place teams in the SCAC. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at the Trinity University Softball Field in San Antonio.
