Seguin area residents invited to join in the fun
(New Braunfels) — Guadalupe County residents in search of some nerdy fun need look no further than New Braunfels as the Hill Country Comicon kicks off a two-day event the first weekend of April.
According to event organizers, the Comicon “promotes fun, art literacy, and imagination through pop culture and comics” while bringing widely known celebrities and vendors to town for two days of entertainment. This year’s line-up includes big names for anime fans, as many of the Dragon Ball Z cast, including the voice actors for Goku, Bulma, and more, will be in attendance.
This year’s headliners include cast members from the Brady Bunch and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in a timeless reunion and a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans.” Attendees will have the chance to meet the actors who portrayed Greg, Bobby, and Cindy Brady in the iconic family television show.
Other notable names on this year’s celebrity lineup include Kevin Clash, the voice actor for Sesame Street’s Elmo, Bettina Bush who voiced the 80’s classic, Rainbow Brite and well as other voice actors from Hello Kitty, the DC’sFlash, Pokémon and more.
Organizers say there will also be a wide array of crafters, vendors and cosplayers to check out as well as a cosplay competition.
“We encourage cosplayers to take part in our cosplay competition, and even if you don’t want to compete, we hope the community will be inspired to come out as characters from their favorite movies, shows, manga, and comics,” said their press release.
The event runs April 5 – 6 at the New Braunfels Civic & Convention Center. Parents are reminded that children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available at hillcountrycomicon.com.
